The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf stars Theo James as Vesemir, Geralt's Witcher mentor as he explores the Continent years ahead of he is taking the sequence' primary protagonist below his wing. Nightmare of the Wolf will depict Vesemir's origins tale however, whilst we will see the live-action model of the nature in The Witcher season 2 later this 12 months, the prequel film will introduce him to audiences in animated shape as an alternative. At the floor, it should look like a unusual transfer for Netflix to make. In spite of everything, its adaptation of The Witcher – plus the streamer's coming near near Blood Origin spin-off TV display – are live-action productions, so growing an anime-style prequel movie may well be seen as slightly of an oddity. And but, in response to the 2 trailers we have now observed up to now (the teaser trailer arrived in late July), Nightmare of the Wolf in fact appears to be like lovely first rate. For one, the animation appears to be like stunning. It seems that fluid, the colours in point of fact pop in opposition to the in most cases grey and drab backgrounds and the lights seems to be spot on. Upload within the herbal flowing really feel of the film's set-pieces and Nightmare of the Wolf seems like a top-tier degree manufacturing.

That mustn't come as a lot of a wonder, thoughts you. The studio in the back of its building – Studio Mir – additionally created Dota: Dragon's Blood for Netflix, and that venture's animation seemed simply as pretty as Nightmare of the Wolf does. The Korean animation corporate has additionally led manufacturing on Warner Bros' animated houses together with Younger Justice, in addition to The Boondocks for Grownup Swim, so it has quite a few revel in below its belt that'll have helped to make Nightmare of the Wolf as excellent as it seems that. Upload in the truth that Nightmare of the Wolf used to be penned via Beau DeMayo, who wrote the episode 'Betrayer Moon' for The Witcher season 1, and has been produced via The Witcher's showrunner Lauran Schmidt Hissrich, and the animated prequel movie appears to be in protected palms. The ones hyperlinks with DeMayo and Hissrich, particularly, will assist to bridge the space between Nightmare of the Wolf and Netflix's live-action Witcher sequence, too, so we suspect that there will some name backs to the prequel film in The Witcher season 2. All in all, we are lovely pumped for Nightmare of the Wolf's arrival later this month. Netflix has loved good fortune with its different fresh animated diversifications, together with Castlevania, Masters of the Universe: Revelation (regardless that some enthusiasts had been unsatisfied with how it turned out), Blood of Zeus and the aforementioned Dota. If Nightmare of the Wolf is as excellent as the ones houses, it's going to be any other hit for the streaming large – and start to construct our anticipation for The Witcher season 2, which launches in December. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf lands on Netflix on Friday, August 23.
